Chemical Peels Newcastle
Chemical peels work to exfoliate the skin, trigger the healing response, and promote collagen production. They are a beneficial element of skincare, and come in many strengths and forms, therefore it is imperative to seek advice from a qualified skin professional before starting your journey of Chemical Peels.
At Dr Kane Aesthetics Co. Newcastle, we offer medical grade peels which are used to exfoliate dull, tired skin cells and break down the bonds between damaged cells and new healthy cells which lie beneath the surface of the skin. The application of chemical solutions causes this process to happen, and the fresh skin underneath is often less wrinkled, smoother, and may have less damage

FAQs
How is a Chemical Skin Peel performed and how long does it take?
-
Chemical peels are relatively quick to carry out, to begin the treatment, a thorough cleanse of the skin is followed by a gentle application of the peel. The skin therapist will monitor the patient’s skin to ensure they feel as safe and comfortable as possible. To finish the treatment, moisturiser and SPF is applied to the skin, and the patient will receive an AlumierMD Post Procedure Kit to use at home for the following 5-7 days.
Are skin peels painful?
-
In short, no. Many patients will feel slight tingling on their skin, with serious side effects being extremely rare. It’s important to have trust in the expert and know that they will be monitoring the skin 100% of the time during treatment.
How many peels will I need?
-
To achieve best results, it is advised to have a course of 3-6 skin peel treatments, approximately 2 - 4 weeks apart dependant on individual concern.
How long do the results last?
-
As with any aesthetic treatment, results will vary from person to person. Although this is hard to predict, following the correct aftercare and introducing AlumierMD medical grade skincare will help to maintain and prolong results. With the skin being a sensitive organ, it is crucial to protect this as much as possible. It is also important to avoid picking of the skin, this could lead to irritation and possible scarring.
