Lip Fillers in Newcastle
Lip Fillers Newcastle
Lip filler is one of the most popular treatments with women of all ages, however it’s also one of the most anxiety-inducing as well. We have all seen pictures online and may know people with bad lip filler – either too much, an unnatural shape, or even both! The key difference between achieving a natural, subtle enhancement to the lip which respects your natural lip anatomy and these fake results is the expertise of the injector. At Dr Kane Aesthetics Co. we specialise in the newest lip filler techniques to achieve an amazing natural-looking lip. We even train others on our cutting-edge lip techniques!
Lip Mastery
A bespoke treatment plan is key to successful lip filler treatment. There is a huge variation in lip size, shape, and symmetry as well as how the lip fits in relation to the rest of the face. That is why at Dr Kane Aesthetics Co. Newcastle we put a significant emphasis on the consultation and planning phase of the treatment so we can create a bespoke plan to suit your face. Our expertise allows us to select from a variety of techniques, filler types and technical instruments such as cannulas to tailor our lip treatments to your face and your lip treatment needs.
What is lip filler?
Lip fillers involve injecting a soft, clear, gel-like substance found naturally in our body - hyaluronic acid - into the lips to enhance its volume and definition The results achieved can range from a subtle rehydration to improving the size and definition of the lips.

How do lip fillers work?
Like with all my treatments the consultation phase is key to a successful treatment. We offer free 60-minute consultations which allows me to fully assess the face and lip proportions so that we can have a discussion about what would allow us to enhance how the lips harmonise with the rest of the face. At Dr Andrew's Newcastle Cosmetic Clinic we favour a more natural enhancement to both the lips and our other treatments. The premium product that we use - Juvederm vycross allows us to achieve this natural long lasting result which feels very smooth compared to most other fillers available on the market.
What are the benefits of lip filler

The aim of the procedure is to use the lip filler to subtly enhance the volume and, in some cases the definition of the lip. This can have a host of benefits including making the lip look subtly plumper, improving downturned corners of the mouth, softening lines and wrinkles around the lips and helping individuals who show too much gum when they are smiling.

How are the lip fillers injected?
In most cases I use a cannula to carry out the lip augmentation which allows us to keep the injections to two small holes at the side of the mouth in which the cannula can access all areas of the lip. This helps reduce the risk of complications and bruising. It also allows us to carefully tailor the treatment plan to you as we can add filler in small amounts and then assess.
Does lip filler hurt?
The comfort of the procedure is important at Dr Andrew's Newcastle Cosmetic Clinic and as such long appointment times are booked to allow for appropriate application of numbing cream and potentially the addition of numbing injections.
How long do lip fillers last
The premium Juvederm vycross lip filler that we use is then eventually naturally broken down by the body over the course of approximately to 12 months

As mentioned all of or treatments are completely bespoke to YOUR face. However here are five of our commonly used lip treatment techniques that we carry out on a daily basis;
Dr Kane’s two point lip revolumisation
For subtly fuller lips whilst still naturally maintaining your lip shape this is the perfect treatment for you. A cannula is used not only allowing us to place the filler at the perfect natural looking depth but also to greatly reduce swelling downtime and the chance of bruising after the lip augmentation. A premium revolumising filler such a Juvéderm Volift is usually used for this procedure.
The Lip Restoration Technique
This lip filler technique is especially suited for more mature women who have had some age-related changes to their lips – either a loss of definition on the border of the lips or a loss of volume and fullness to the lip. This technique uses a softer filler to naturally and subtly enhance both the lip volume and lip border. This lip filler technique can also help to significantly improve any vertical lip lines (sometimes known as smoker’s lines). A premium moldable filler such as Juvéderm Vobella is usually used for this procedure.

Downturned Corner Lift Technique
This filler technique is great for patients who are experiencing a downturned corner of the mouth. A small amount of filler placed here strategically can offer support to the corner of the mouth. This gives the mouth and lips a more positive, upturn appearance as well as reducing shadowing at the corners of the mouth. (see also marionette filler)
Asymmetric lips
If you feel that you have a marked asymmetry in the lips then we may be able to help. At our detailed consultation we will assess what is causing the asymmetry and what our ideal ratio would be. We use a 360 approach assessing the lips from all angles and profiles whilst taking your age, ethnicity and gender into account.

Lip correction and hyalase
If you are unhappy with treatment you may have had elsewhere then we would be happy to see you for a lip correction conulstation. Here we will take a detailed history of your previous lip treatment however most lip fillers used in the UK are dissolvable using a dissolving agent (Hyalase®)
Gummy smile
If you are unhappy with how much teeth is showing when you smile then gummy smile treatment may be for you. Sometimes we can use lip filler to improve the amount of gum showing however we also have another option which is to use botoxR to relax the smiling muscle so although we can still talk and smile as normal, not as much gum shows when doing so. Both options can be a very safe, effective method of treating this issue.

Lip Filler FAQ

Are lip fillers painful?
Although the lips have a reputation for being an uncomfortable treatment Dr Kane has developed a number of methods to make the procedure more comfortable. Numbing cream Is used as well as injecting a small amount of numbing agent into the area to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Are lip fillers permanent?
The lip fillers carried out at our clinic are not permanent. We use a hyaluronic acid filler (the brand we use is the premium Juvederm vycross) which is found naturally within our body..This means over a period of time our body naturally breaks down the lip filler at which point they will return to how they were previously

What is the downtime of lip fillers?
There is no specific downtime to the procedure itself. Rarely there can be a small amount of swelling for the first day or two but not to the extent were it would prohibit daily activities
How long will lip fillers last?

Lip fillers will usually last approximately 12 months.
Will a cannula or needle be used for my lip fillers?
This can be discussed at consultation however Dr Kane prefers to use a cannula to reduce the risk and the downtimes associated with the procedures
